According to WWL ALS, EMS Majestic was taking on water and this caused the engines to fail. The vessel was recovered and taken to ABP’s Port of Southampton in an operation executed by HM Coastguard and other agencies. WWL ALS is currently acting as the ship’s agent and operations manager. WWL ALS’ response team is currently in attendance and handling the incident on behalf of the vessel owner’s. EMS Majestic has berthed adjacent to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) terminal. The incident occurred during high seas and strong winds. At this stage the cause of incident remains unknown. The vessel will be investigated and repaired to establish the cause of the incident. PROVO — Former BYU golfer Lea Garner hung on to win the inaugural Utah Women’s Open Sunday, edging Sirene Blair by one shot at East Bay Golf Course.Garner, a native of Washington Terrace who completed her career at BYU last year, added a 66 to her first-day 67 to beat Blair, who hails from South Jordan and just completed her collegiate career at San Diego State. Blair also shot 66 Sunday after a first-round 68.Finishing five shots back of the winner at 138 was Juli Erekson, a professional from Eagle Mountain, while BYU sophomore Anna Kennedy was the top amateur, finishing with a 140 total, a shot better than State Amateur champion Kelsey Chugg.By winning, Garner earned $3,000, while Blair got $2,000 as the runner-up and Erekson received $1,200 for third in the tournament sponsored by Siegfried & Jensen and Fairways Media.In Sunday’s final round, Garner extended her overall lead to three with birdies at holes 2 and 3, before Blair cut the margin to one with birdies at 6 and 9. A birdie on 12 left the two in a tie before Garner made back-to-back birdies at 13 and 14 with Blair also birdieing 14.
