At this point I’ve given up on complaining about black jerseys so it’s whatever. Black jersey in the same striping pattern with white stripes/numbers and red accents. All good to me like that. Now it’s creeping into football. Not insanely bothered by it, but that doesn’t mean the design won’t suck. Is it the inclusion of black? I’m personally not in love with the logo, but I think it is solid and instantly recognizable as Wisconsin. Did their helmets just have block W’s on them previously? Is it the inclusion of black? I’m personally not in love with the logo, but I think it is solid and instantly recognizable as Wisconsin. Did their helmets just have block W’s on them previously? They did. There were a handful of things that surprised me when I came on this site and the dislike for the motion W is one of them. The block W helmet was before my time at Wisconsin (as a kid cheering for the rival gophers), but when they put t motion EW on the helmet, it did become immediately recognizable. Add to that the fact that Barry Alverez implemented it (and the success came soon thereafter) and it’s not going away. I had one friend at UW that did not like it, but for the most part the students and the community love it. It’s all subjective obviously, but I was surprised. I love it. I think it’s the best helmet in college football (and I don’t normally think that about my teams uniforms). The other sports were a few years behind in adopting it. And I was disappointed when they did in basketball. The block W looked great on the shorts. But the motion W looks great on the helmet.Edit: Here’s a little helmet history Members Posted June 8, 2012 All Activity 5,583 posts rams80 Share on other sites 14,934 posts 145 145 Link to post Forums Home 2 4,436 Prev Posted June 8, 2012 Wisconsin should wear the black jerseys first since they were the ones who made their brand identity like Nebraska’s.That said, given Nebraska’s recent performances in games immediately after the bestowing of the “blackshirts”, the Huskers will likely lose by 30 in them and we will never speak of those jerseys again. 0 Share on other sites 0 4,436 Forums Home Posted June 8, 2012 4,436 2,171 Members 210 2018 NFC West Champs! 160 And I still await the day they retire that tired-ass motion “W”, too.you and me both, brother. And I still await the day they retire that tired-ass motion “W”, too. Not going to happen. Particularly since it coincides almost exactly with the only good times for the program. Also the big modern helmet logo vs. Nebraska’s small basic helmet logo is about the biggest deference. As for Nebraska in black, I would not be surprised if they dumped the entire idea due to negative fan reaction. I think that very thing happened when they wanted to give serifs/outlines to the “N” on the helmet. As for BFBS…yes it is. As post #2 said, it’s not a school color. Wisconsin’s use of black is BFBS. It may not be as egregious as, say, Arizona State, but it still is. Honestly, I cannot imagine Nebraska in a black jersey or even with black trim on the helmet/jersey/pants. I hope they don’t do it. If they want to go Michigan fauxback style, fine. But they are a traditional powerhouse. They are red. Link to post 35,628 posts If it was just a black jersey? If Wisconsin wants not to wear black (crosses fingers) then they should not wear black. Nor will I say “Nebraska came to the B10 late and they should wear black”. The Teams are not that hard to tell apart. That said, I’d be all for Wisconsin darkening up their red, as they have with throwbacks. I wouldn’t mind seeing Nebraska in black jerseys. Man Utd equal Prem record for most penalties in a season with dodgy Bruno spot kick which VAR chiefs admit was a mistake

first_img REAL vs FAKE GOLD Funny animals make you happy and laugh funny animal compilation MANCHESTER UNITED equalled a Premier League record following Bruno Fernandes’ controversial penalty against Aston Villa. The Portuguese midfielder swept home a first-half spot-kick after he was deemed to have been brought down by Ezri Konsa. The penalty was United’s 13th of the season – equalling the Premier League record for spot-kicks awarded in a single campaign. The Red Devils have now drawn level with the Crystal Palace team of 2004/05 and Leicester City’s title-winning side from 2015/16.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men still have four matches remaining this season to break the record.Yet controversy reigned around their latest spot-kick after replays appeared to show Fernandes was the one who committed the foul. The 25-year-old then punished the relegation-threatened hosts by scoring from 12 yards at Villa Park, before United ran out 3-0 winners. The Premier League later confirmed that referee Jon Moss was wrong to award the penalty and that VAR Graham Scott should have overruled the decision. The decision compounded Villa’s relegation fears and boss Dean Smith blasted the officials after the match. He said: “It all turned around on the penalty decision.“I can understand Jon Moss getting it wrong but that goes to VAR, I don’t know what they are looking at. It’s a disgraceful decision. I can’t really tell you what I think about it as I’ll get fined. It’s a poor decision. They’ve got a screen they can go to and look at but they don’t seem to be bothered now.“Anybody who has been in football knows Fernandes is trying to do a drag back. His first foot is on the ball and his second is on Konsa’s shin.“I thought he was going to give a foul the other way.”Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Man United ‘could have scored 3,4,5 more’ vs Aston Villa but heaps praise on goalscorer Mason Greenwood Travel Diary // Vietnam 2017 What’s This “Trick” Called? Richard Sherman sounds off on Seahawks: You expect they wouldn’t cut you while you’re hurt

first_img“I thought it was really sh—y, to be honest with you, how it ended,” Baldwin said, per The News Tribune. “I would really have liked for him to stay here, and have an opportunity to finish his career with this organization.“But it’s part of the business. Doesn’t work out that way.”The 49ers (2-9) will travel to Seattle on Sunday to face the Seahawks (6-5) with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. ET. Related News Sherman’s comments come three days before the 49ers cornerback makes the trip to Seattle for the first time as a visiting player. The Seahawks waived the three-time All-Pro cornerback in March while he was recovering from a torn Achilles. Sherman then signed a three-year deal with the 49ers.Former teammate Doug Baldwin also talked about Sherman’s release, saying he wasn’t happy with how the cornerback’s time ended with the franchise. Pete Carroll: Richard Sherman ‘was a challenge … every bit worth it’ Richard Sherman isn’t done talking about his abrupt release from the Seahawks, and he still appears to be upset with how his time with Seattle ended. “You just expect that after you’ve done so much for a franchise that they wouldn’t cut you while you’re hurt,” Sherman told reporters Thursday, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “It’s kind of more of a respect thing than anything. But they did. So you’ve kind of got to roll with the business.”last_img read more
